Follow this guide to set up the standard Windows Vista VPN client

  1. Click on Vista Start then Control Panel and select the "Network and Sharing Center" icon.
  2. Once there click on the "Connect to a network" option in the Task menu.

  3. Select the "Connect to a workplace" option.

  4. Select the "Use my Internet connection (VPN) option".

  5. Next, specify the internet address, either IP address or hostname, for the computer
  6. handling your VPN connection.

  7. Now enter the username and password for the connection and the domain, if your
  8. connection requires it (Your network administrator can confirm which settings you
  9. will require.)

  10. Finally, click Connect Now to establish your VPN session.
