When you join your ISP (internet service provider) they always claim to offer a speed higher than you get.

We recommend that you run a speed test on your connection if you are wanting to stream TV over the internet
If you are wanting to purchase a UK VPN please test to the UK and if your after a US VPN please test to the US and not the country that your currently in
We recommend a connection speed of 2MB or above to your chosen country, though you should not have any problem with any connection above 1MB unless you want to stream HD then you will need at least 3MB

It is normal to lose around 20-30% of your internet speed when connected to a VPN. This is down to the way your connection is re-routed and encrypted though on many occasions the upload speed can be increased by 10%
